Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden arrived in Taiwan for a three-day visit on Wednesday.
During his visit, Harden will give a speech to high school basketball players, take part in an online "meet-the-fans" forum and practice with Taiwan's national team before leaving the country around noon on June 14.
The US basketball star was a first-time all-star player this year and was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year with the Oklahoma City Thunder last year. His NBA career began after he was drafted by Oklahoma City in 2009 and immediately became a key part of the young team led by Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook. The team made it to the finals during the 2012 season, losing to the Miami Heat.
Harden was then traded to Houston and became the cornerstone of the Rockets franchise, alongside his Taiwanese-American teammate Jeremy Lin.
