A couple of young lovers had an expensive quarrel at the Guangdong Hotel in Shanghai on Sept. 10, when they threw a total of more than 20,000 yuan (US$3,160) in bills out of the window more than 10 stories up, reports the local Xinmin Evening News.

A security guard said he heard someone shouting outside, saying, "Money is falling from heaven!" He ran out immediately and saw hundred yuan bills falling from the sky.

Onlookers of the bizarre sight began to aid security at the hotel in trying to collect the falling cash and return it to the obviously distressed owners. Strangely, the couple only managed to find a little more than 10,000 yuan, half of what they had thrown away.
