Taiwan's telecom carriers confirmed Saturday that Apple's iPad mini with wi-fi will hit the local market simultaneously with the iPhone 5.
The launch time will be Dec. 14, as previously reported for the launch of the iPhone 5, the carriers said.
The carriers said Apple might be timing the launch of the hotly anticipated devices to coincide with the pre-Christmas buying spree.
A day earlier, Apple announced that the iPhone 5 will hit the Chinese market Dec. 14, carrying a price tag of 5,288 Chinese yuan (US$849).
In the past, Apple products have almost aways been timed to hit the Taiwanese market earlier than the Chinese market.
